Your First Visit
We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first
visit to our office. At this complimentary first visit, Dr. Feagin will
perform a thorough exam, and present a tentative treatment plan.
We know your time is valuable. Thus, to expedite treatment, we may also
take diagnostic records, which include an X-ray and several clinical
images of your face and teeth.
In addition, Dr. Feagin will address most, if not all, of your orthodontic questions. We can also answer questions regarding financial arrangements, and provide a review of your benefits if you have insurance.
We will make every effort to keep your number of visits to the office to a minimum; while still providing quality care. If needed, we can combine your first three appointments into your first visit based on the information you give us over the phone. Please inform us if you would like to take advantage of this offer. This will enable us to schedule sufficient time for your appointment.
Here are 10 important questions you can
ask Dr. Feagin on your first visit:
What are my treatment options?
Ask about the various types of braces or aligners available (e.g., metal braces, ceramic braces, clear aligners) and which one is best suited for your case.
How long will the treatment take?
Understanding the expected timeline can help you plan and set realistic expectations for your orthodontic treatment.
How much will the treatment cost, and do you offer payment plans?
It’s essential to get a clear understanding of the cost and whether there are flexible payment options, insurance coverage, or financing plans.
What is the treatment process like?
Ask about the step-by-step process, including any initial consultations, scans, x-rays, fittings, and the frequency of adjustments.
How often will I need to come in for check-ups or adjustments?
Knowing how often you need to visit can help with scheduling and planning around your daily life.
6. Are there any side effects or potential complications?
Understand the risks associated with the specific type of treatment, including discomfort, gum issues, or potential complications.
What can I expect in terms of pain or discomfort during treatment?
Ask how much discomfort is typical, especially after adjustments or fittings, and what options are available for relief.
How will this affect my daily routine, such as eating, oral hygiene, or sports activities?
Learn about any restrictions, dietary changes, or additional hygiene routines that are necessary during your treatment.
What happens after my braces or aligners are removed?
Inquire about post-treatment care, such as retainers, and how long you will need to wear them to maintain the results.
What happens if my teeth shift after treatment?
It’s important to know what options are available if teeth move after the braces come off or if future adjustments are needed.
These questions will help you get a comprehensive understanding of the treatment process, cost, and care.
